character design work (omg this is hard XD )

I was really struggling putting a character together. A task that we did in class (like pixar), was that we made characters using images found in google search. i really loved the stars on the alien's skin. it was an image that i fell in love with but i had a feeling that it wasn't going to translate well when i drew it out.

I guess it could of gone worse but i really dont like it. At first, i couldn't see the reason why but then it hit me- it was like mewtwo and toothless had a baby, an ugly baby.
it needed more development to be sure.
i then did some more doodles:

and realised that they looked like hands and it made me sad XD. That's when i sent the picture above in our animation group chat, Ali said that it reminded her of an alien race from doctor who: the silurian. so now im probably gonna look up some more pictures of them snd combine it with my mewtwo and toothless monstrosity and see what happens... 

i think its a massive improvement- yay! its gonna be impossible to animate though XD
